How to extract value from hidden HTML tags?

Posted by Agenty on Mar 19, 2019

Extracting hidden HTML tags value is same as other visible HTML tags using Agenty. The only difference is you'd need to manually inspect (or view source) the element to find the right selector and write that manually, since the element is not visible on page, so you can't click on element to generate the CSS selector visually using Chrome extension.

For example, see this HTML source :

<!DOCTYPE html>
<html lang="en">
<head>
    <meta charset="utf-8">
    <title>Hidden element extraction example</title>
	<meta name="description" content="Hidden description value" />
	<link rel="canonical" href="hidden link value" />
</head>
<body>
	<div class="container">
	<h1>This page has hidden meta and link tag to learn how to extract hidden tags.<h1>

	</div>
</body>
</html>

It has 2 hidden HTML tags

  1. First is meta description
  2. And another is link canonical

In order to extract their values, we need to write their selector manually :
